Workshop at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow2014, May 21/22th

In many countries the electric power industry is experiencing a major transformationtowards open network access, incentive based regulation and more competition inpower generation. At the same time new challenges arise in infrastructuredevelopment and the accommodation of large scale intermittent production.The international workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss all aspects ofregulation, investment, competition policy and modeling issues with respect toelectric power system. It is directed in particular to junior academics and PhDstudents and we will undertake special efforts to incorporate researchers from theRussian Federation.We invite submission of papers and well developed abstracts on all fields related tothe economics and politics of power systems, for example:
• market design for power and reserve capacities,
• transmission capacities and market power,
• abuse of market power in power generation and distribution,
• production from intermittent renewable energy,
• modeling large scale power systems,
• regulation of tariffs and access rights,
• regional integration of power markets.

There is no participation fee.Financial Assistance: For presenters who are PhD students or who did not finishtheir PhD more than 5 years ago, we can offer a contribution to the cost of travelranging from 500 to 800 Euro depending on the the distance. Please indicatewhether you are eligible in your submission.
