Workshop “Prospects for regional de­velopment in an era of great change” at the XXIII Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, 8 April 2022

The Higher School of Economics in Moscow introduces the interdisciplinary workshop on economic and social development of large emerging economies over the past decade: its determinants, trends and prospects.

We'll explore papers that adopt theoretical as well as empirical, qualitative as well as quantitative research design and that can offer useful insights into the regional development as a set of economic, social and political processes.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Changing the landscape of regional development in the context of energy transition
  • The impact of ecological changes on the socio-economic and political development of regions
  • Growth points in regional development: reasons for the emergence and conditions for sustainable development
  • Eurasian Economic Union integration: opportunities for regions of member countries
  • Ensuring sustainable development of industrial regions and large cities
  • Changes in the urban environment and its inhabitants
  • New trends in regional labor markets and migration processes
  • Prospects for post-crisis development of enterprises and industries
  • Digital transformation of regions: challenges for society and politics
