On 16 January 2025, the Department of Applied Economics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences held a preliminary discussion (pre-defence) of Shweta Sikhwal's PhD thesis on ‘Monetary Instability in Emerging Market Economies’. Research speciality: 5.2.3 Regional and Sectoral Economics, supervisor: Dr. Svetlana Borisovna Avdasheva, Professor, Head of Applied Economics Department, Faculty of Economic Sciences, National Research University Higher School of Economics, scientific adviser: Professor Marek Pawel Dombrowski.

Sergey Anatolievich Merzlyakov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Deputy Head of the International Laboratory of Macroeconomic Analysis, Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical Economics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, and Ivan Pavlovich Stankevich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Economics, Leading Expert of the Project Laboratory for the Development of Intellectual Competitions in Economics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National Research University Higher School of Economics  were the reviewers.
