The «Research on COVID-19 in Russia’s Regions (RoCiRR)» project aims to identify how the COVID-19 pandemic and government policies have affected the attitudes and economic well-being of Russians.
As part of the project, an online survey of the population in 61 regions of Russia was conducted in November 2020. The survey was conducted using the OMI database, which includes respondents aged 18 and older, living primarily in cities with populations over 100,000. The sample was drawn according to quotas on gender, age, and education.
The questionnaire consists of six blocks of questions: 1) personal experiences during the pandemic, 2) trust in institutions, 3) norms and values, 4) social services, and 5) media use. The questionnaire contains both author's questions, as well as questions used in the world practice (for example, the World Values Survey).
The resulting database includes more than 22,000 fully completed questionnaires and is weighted for gender, age and education.
Access to the database is available on request from researchers and research groups until the embargo is lifted in January 2023.
The survey was funded by the Basic Research Program of the National Research University Higher School of Economics with the participation of Columbia and Ghent Universities.
