Foreign researchers in IIMS

In September 2012 André Schultz, a PhD student of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Germany), joined the Institute for Industrial and Market Studies as visiting scholar.

In September 2012 André Schultz, a PhD student of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Germany), joined the Institute for Industrial and Market Studies as visiting scholar. During his 1-month stay (14th September – 14th October) he worked on two research projects investigating the effects of local origin and federal connections of regional politicians, as well as the relationship between judicial alignment and criminal law implementation in Russia. At the end of his stay in Moscow Mr. Schultz presented the paper “Tax return as political statement” (joined work with Alexander Libman and Thomas Graeber) at the institute’s seminar “Institutional problem of the Russian economy”.  

André Schultz research interests include political economy, public economics, law and economics, and international economics. In the scope of his PhD thesis he is working on various aspects helping to understand diverging sub-national economic and political developments in a centralized federation.
