The HSE Institute of Education and the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development held a closed expert seminar on inter-departamental cooperation and agenda-setting in the field of post-Soviet studies on June 7, 2017.
Role of Political Parties in the Euromaidan Protests of 2013-2014
Julian G. Waller, Ph.D Candidate at the Department of Political Science at the George Washington University and ICSID Visiting Researcher, presented his research on "Popular Perceptions and the De Facto Role of Political Parties in the Euromaidan Protests of 2013-2014" at another meeting of the regular ICSID-CSDSI Seminar on June 6, 2017. The event was held jointly with the HSE seminar on political economy.
Another session of the joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development
Elena Podkolzina, Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics and Senior Research Fellow of the Center for Institutional Studies at HSE, presented her paper "Corruption perception and competition in public procurement: empirical evidence from Russian regions" (co-authored with P. Detkova and A. Tkachenko) on January 31th, 2017.
Andrei Yakovlev, Head of the Institute for Industrial and Market Studies, became a member of the Academic Advisory Board working on the Discuss Data project
The project is initiated as collaboration between the Research Centre for East European Studies of the University of Bremen (FSO), Göttingen State and University Library (SUB) and supported with the grant from the German Research Council (DFG).

On 3rd November International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development, Laboratory for Labor Market Studies and Centre for Labour Market Studies held the joint seminar, where the paper «Dynamics of Inequality and Convergence after Transition – Evidence from Russia» was presented.
Field trip to Kaluga
On June 23, 2016, members of the ICSID team Thomas Remington, Israel Marques and Vladimir Bazavliuk visited the automobile plant of Volkswagen Group Rus and its vocational education facilities in the town of Kaluga.
