5th ICSID Conference 2016 “Political Economy of Inequality” June 21–22 2016 EACES-HSE Workshop “Economic Development and Elite Competition” June 20, 2016 Moscow, Higher School of Economics

5th Annual Conference of the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) “Political Economy of Inequality” will be held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow on June 21-22, 2016. The conference will follow the EACES-HSE Workshop “Economic Development and Elite Competition” on June 20.

The major goal of these events is to bring together Russian and foreign scientists in the fields of political economy, political science, economic and institutional development and stimulate the exchange of research results, ideas and knowledge. In 2016, we will continue discussing a variety of issues that we focused on during the four previous conferences organized by ICSID.

Main topics of the conference will include:

• Collective actions
• Comparative studies of governance in Russia and China
• Social capital, trust, and cultural norms
• Political elites and economic performance in Russia
• Social policy and vocational education
