The Institute of World Economics of the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies (in collaboration with the Democracy Institute of Central European University) is organizing the 7th The Role of State in Varieties of Capitalism (SVOC) Annual International Conference in Budapest, on 29-30 November 2021.

This year's title is "The changing repertoire of state intervention to promote development in an unfolding new world order”. The keynote speakers will be Elizabeth Thurbon (Scientia Associate Professor, University of New South Wales, Sidney) and László Bruszt (Professor of Sociology and Co-Director of Democracy Institute, Central European University).

The conference is planned to take place in a hybrid form, depending on the Covid-19 pandemic situation (with full online sessions, but if possible one keynote speech, round table discussion and some panels will take place at CEU, Budapest).

Please see the conference website for more details.
