ICSID new team member

Kyle Marquardt will join the Higher School of Economics in summer 2019. Kyle will have a dual affiliation at HSE: he will be an Assistant Professor in the School of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and at the same time he will be involved in joint research projects with the ICSID team members.

Kyle is currently a senior research fellow at the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute at the University of Gothenburg.  He received his PhD in Political Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015, a master degree in Regional Studies: Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia from Harvard University in 2009, and a BA in German with a concentration in Linguistics from Grinnell College in 2005. His research interests include identity politics, center-periphery relations, survey research and latent variable modeling. Kyle has conducted research in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Turkey and Turkmenistan; his work has most recently been published in the Journal of Peace Research, Political Analysis and Comparative Political Studies.

After joining the Center, Kyle will continue working on his research topics.
