SIOE 2019
ICSID team members took part in the 23rd Annual Conference of the Society for Institutional & Organizational Economics that was held in Stockholm Economic School on June 27-29, 2019.
It is noteworthy that the event does not have a permanent venue and annually changes its location. Thus, the Conference was held in New-York in 2017 and in Montreal in 2018. Almost every year someone from the ICSID research team attends the Conference.
SIOE 2019 hosted five ICSID researchers and one IIMS researcher, who presented their papers:
Andrei Yakovlev «Poltical Connections and Investment Activity of Russian Firms: Survey Experiment Results»
Anton Kazun «Management of Violence: Effect of Regional Authorities on Corporate Raiding in Russia»
Ekaterina Borisova «Generalized Trust, Preferences for Redistribution and Institutions»
Denis Ivanov «Public Reaction on Trade Sanctions in a Democratic Context: Evidence from Moldovan Wine Embargo»
Irina Levina «Decentralization and Innovation of Hungarian Firms»
Yuliya Rodionova «Potential Opportunism in Public Procurement: Results of an Empirical Study»
This year conference attracted high quality papers from an international community of scholars in many disciplines including economics, political science, sociology, management, history, and law. In total more than 200 papers were presented in about 50 parallel sessions. The conference featured keynote speeches by Nathan Nunn (Harvard University) and Paola Sapienza (Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University).
The SIOE conference 2020 will take place at MIT, Cambridge, Massachussets, from Thursday, June 18, to Saturday, June 20.
