HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another session of their joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on May 16, 2017.

A new book by Ora John Reuter, ICSID senior research fellow, titled “The Origins of Dominant Parties: Building Authoritarian Institutions in Post-Soviet Russia” was published by Cambridge University Press at the end of April, 2017.

HSE bulletin Okna Rosta took an interview with Professor Andrei Yakovlev, Director of the HSE Institute for Industrial and Market Studies and member of the Programme Committee of the April Conference on Economic and Social Development, about the origins of the conference and how it changed and expanded over the years. 

Some of the ICSID researchers took part in the annual European Public Choice Society (EPCS) Conference, which was held in Budapest at the Central European University on 19-22 April, 2017.

Denis Ivanov, ICSID Research Fellow, presented his paper "Do institutions cause social trust? Evidence from an institutional reform" on April 18, 2017.

XVIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development organized by Higher School of Economics took place in Moscow on April 11-14, 2017.

ICSID researchers took part in an international workshop «Political elites and political rents under electoral authoritarianism: evidence from Russia and beyond» that was held at the University of Oxford, the United Kingdom, on April 3, 2017.

Some of the ICSID researchers took part in the annual Conference of the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES), which was held in Cambridge, United Kingdom, on March 31 – April 2, 2017.
