ICSID seminar at Columbia University

Current research and preliminary results of ICSID's activities in 2011-2012 were presentaed at an open seminar in New York on September 19-21th, 2012.

Fight criminals, but not the crime: institutional analysis of the Russian law enforcement system

In July 2012, Lauren McCarty (University of Massachusetts Amherst) has presented the results of her research on human trafficking in Russia, conducted in 2007-2009.

Cooperation with the police: the incentives do not work

On July 9th Scott Gehlbach and Lauren MacCarthy presented their paper "Cooperating with the State: Evidence from Survey Experiments on Policing" at an ICSID seminar.

Workshop "Experimental approach to community-based policing"

On December 12th and 13th ICSID organised a workshop on experimental methodology in police studies. Russian and foreign experts took part in the workshop.

Seminar "Research in Russian Regional Politics: approaches and hypothesis"

The International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development organized a seminar on the Russian regional politics on September 19-20th, 2011. During the seminar, the researchers from ICSID presented their current projects to initiate a discussion with the invited experts, specializing in regional political and economic process and the relationships between the center and the regions in Russia. Workshop on Field Experimentation in Political Economy

Some of the Center’s experts attended a workshop on field experiments in New York on the 18-20th of May, 2011. The seminar was organized by the Columbia Center for the Study of Development Strategies and the Harriman Institute at Columbia University as part of the joint project of the Higher School of Economics and the Harriman Institute for the establishment of the International Centre for the Study of Institutions and Development at the HSE.
