HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another session of their joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development.
ICSID Research Fellow Denis Ivanov took part in the Second conference “Political Economy of Democracy and Dictatorship” which was held in the Westphalian Wilhelm University Muenster (Germany) on March 15-17, 2018.
A paper by ICSID leading research fellow Thomas Remington entitled «Public-Private Partnerships in TVET: Adapting the Dual System in the United States» was accepted for publication in the Journal of Vocational Education & Training (Q2).
An article by IIMS research fellows Alexander Libman, Tatiana Dolgopyatova and Andrei Yakovlev “Board Empowerment: What Motivates Board Members of Founder-Owned Companies?” was published online in the leading management journal “Journal of Management Inquiry” on March 13, 2018.
Another session of the joint seminar on Diversity and Development was held at HSE on March 13. Professor Andrei Markevich from the New Economic School presented his research on "Democratic Support for the Bolshevik Revolution: An Empirical Investigation of 1917 Constituent Assembly Elections".
Andrei Yakovlev was invited to give a talk at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies (Harvard University) on March 9, 2018. The paper that Professor Yakovlev presented was called “In Response to External Shocks: How Advanced Russian Regions React to Changes in Federal Policies – the Experience of Tatarstan”. The seminar was chaired by Thomas Remington, the Davis Center Associate and Visiting Professor at Harvard University.
IIMS Director Andrei Yakovlev presented his paper "Mobilizing Law in Developing Countries: Some Implications from Russian ‘Limited Access Order’" at “The Life & Legacy of Douglass North” Conference that took place at George Mason University in Arlington, the USA, on March 2-3.
The ICSID project on public-private partnerships in VET that is supported by the Russian Science Foundation was extended for another year. The three-year project started in 2016 thanks to a generous grant by the RSF, and involves researchers from ICSID and the Institute of Education at HSE.
Kseniya Abanokova, Junior Research Fellow at theCentre for Comprehensive Social Policy Studies (HSE), presented her current research on "Pocketbook motivation in voting in Russia" at another session of the ICSID and CSDSI Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on February 20, 2018.
