IAMCR 2019: Communication, Technology and Human Dignity: Disputed Rights, Contested Truths

Anton Kazun, ICSID research fellow, took part in IAMCR conference that was held in Madrid (Spain) on July 7-11, 2019. He presented his paper«Global News Flow in G-20: Attention to Countries vs Attention to Leaders» (co-authored  by Anastasia Kazun).

8th International ICSID Conference «Political Economy of Redistribution and Institutional Change»

8th Annual Conference of the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) «Political Economy of Redistribution and Institutional Change» took place at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow on June 13-15, 2019. Over the years the conference has turned from a small scientific event into a serious platform for discussing actual issues in the field of political economy, and has already become a tradition for many researchers to visit.

Participation in the workshop of European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management

Victoria Golikova took part in the15th EIASM workshop on family firm management research that was held in Nantes (France) on May 23-25, 2019. She presented her paper «Do CEO individual characteristics matter for financial performance of a firm? The case of russian manufacturing enterprises» (co-authored by Viktor Kuznetsov).

Firms and Social Change in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Historical, Political and Economic Perspectives

Andrei Yakovlev, Ksenia Gonchar and Irina Levina took part at the 7th annual conference of the Leibnitz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies. The event was held in Regensburg (Germany) on 23-25 May, 2019.

A new article in The Journal of Politics

The article “Elections, Protest, and Trust in Government: A Natural Experiment from Russia” by Timothy Frye and Ekaterina Borisova was published on the Journal of Politics website.

Participation in Japanese workshops

IIMS research fellow Fabian Burkhardt participated in two workshops, which were held in Japan and were thematically dedicated to the political and economic issues in Russia and Ukraine.

Invited researchers in persons

Renata Mustafina, PhD student at the Political Science/Comparative Political society, Sciences Po, Centre de recherches internationales (CERI/CNRS) spent two months at the ICSID working on her research. By tradition, we asked Renata to give feedback. In a short interview, she talked about her stay at the Center, professional growth, and what foreign colleagues should take into account if they decided to conduct research in Russia.
