Seminar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies
Andrei Yakovlev was invited to give a talk at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies (Harvard University) on March 9, 2018. The paper that Professor Yakovlev presented was called “In Response to External Shocks: How Advanced Russian Regions React to Changes in Federal Policies – the Experience of Tatarstan”. The seminar was chaired by Thomas Remington, the Davis Center Associate and Visiting Professor at Harvard University.

“The Life & Legacy of Douglass North” Conference
IIMS Director Andrei Yakovlev presented his paper "Mobilizing Law in Developing Countries: Some Implications from Russian ‘Limited Access Order’" at “The Life & Legacy of Douglass North” Conference that took place at George Mason University in Arlington, the USA, on March 2-3.

The third year of the RSF project
The ICSID project on public-private partnerships in VET that is supported by the Russian Science Foundation was extended for another year. The three-year project started in 2016 thanks to a generous grant by the RSF, and involves researchers from ICSID and the Institute of Education at HSE.

EACES seminar in Warsaw
IIMS Head Andrei Yakovlev took part in a seminar of the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES), which was held in Warsaw School of Economics on February 16, 2018. Professor Yakovlev presented his paper "Channels of communication between international business and national government: implementations for domestic reform and international relations".

Let's talk
A conversation with 2018 Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak was held at Columbia University on February 8, 2018. The talk was organized by the Harriman Institute and the New York University Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia, and moderated by Timothy Frye, ICSID Academic Supervisor and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Columbia University.
Research Seminar on Diversity and Development
HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another session of their joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on February 6, 2018. The event was held jointly with the seminar “Political Economy” and Economic Development and Growth Research Group.
