Today, on the 1st of February, the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) celebrates its 10th Anniversary. We asked one of the founders and leading research fellow of the Center Timothy Frye, professor at Columbia University, to tell us more about the ICSID history and its future.

On November 26, the IIMS and ICSID director Andrei Yakovlev was invited to the BRI online-forum (China) on Global Cooperation of Public Health and SMEs Innovation & Development as a key-note speaker and gave a lecture "The response of Russian Firms to the Covid-19 pandemic and economic crisis – the cases of IT and tourism".
An article by the ISCID assosiate fellow, professor of University of Bremen Michael Rochlitz, Evgeniya Mitrokhina (HSE University) and Irina Nizovkina (HSE University) "Bureaucratic discrimination in electoral authoritarian regimes: Experimental evidence from Russia" was published online in the journal "European Journal of Political Economy".
ASEEES (Association for Slavic, East European, & Eurasian Studies) Virtual Convention was held online on November 5-8 and November 14-15. This year the main theme of the conference was “Anxiety and Rebellion”, six ISCID team members took part in the event.
A new article by deputy director of the ICSID E. Borisova, V. Bryzgalin and research fellow of the IIMS I. Levina 'Trust and economic growth: Is there a relation?' was published in the "Voprosy Ekonomiki" (2020, 10)
On October 6-10 2020, WAPOR 73rd Annual Conference was held online for the first time. Senior research fellow Anton Kazun presented his paper (co-author Anastasia Kazun) "Global News Flow in G-20: Economic and Political Factors of Media Attention".
International Workshop "Institutions and development: a sub-national perspective": results and final thoughts
The joint ICSID & Quality of Government Institute (QoG) workshop “Institutions and development: a sub-national perspective” was successfully concluded on October 7-9. The workshop was held as a Zoom meeting. This new format once again enabled event organizers to bring together participants from universities all around the world: Russia, Sweden, Germany, USA, UK, Ireland, Italy, Finland, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, India, Turkey, Nigeria and Uruguay. In three days the workshop was attended by more than 100 people.
